Vinayak Banerjee
Vinayak, known as Vinny, has lived in the borough for over seven years and has developed a deep affection for the area. It is where he got married, bought his first home and welcomed his first child. He describes it as his sanctuary and now feels it is time to give back to the community.He works as a Product Lead at a leading on-line bank, building digital products. A passionate football fan, he previously ran a non-profit organisation in India, where he taught football to underprivileged children living in slum communities.
Kathy Heather
Kathy Heather was born and raised in South Bermondsey, with deep roots in the community. She is a proud mum to Katie and Betty, and since 2019 has volunteered extensively and established both a local baby bank and Food Pantry for the vulnerable in Bermondsey. In recognition of her service, she was named a Coronation Champion and received a medal bestowed by His Majesty King Charles III in 2023. Kathy is Chair of the Roule Road Tenants and Residents Association, dealing with damp, mould, broken repairs and safety issues — the everyday realities of neglected estates
Gordon Mackay
Gordon Mackay has lived in Southwark for seven years and is standing to serve as a Ward Councillor in South Bermondsey. Originally from Glasgow and raised in Johannesburg, he has served as a Member of Parliament, Shadow Energy Minister, and Ward Councillor. Prior to life in public service, Gordon was a humanitarian with United Nations Children’s Fund. He has deep experience fighting for residents’ rights, taking on arbitrary administrations to ensure people are seen, heard and prioritised. He will bring this fighting spirit to representing the good people of South Bermondsey.
