Deliver the 1,050 affordable homes Canada Water needs
Canada Water developer, British Land, has revealed it wants to remove almost 1,000 affordable homes from its masterplan of approximately 3,000 new properties.
Original planning permission was granted with 1,050 of the new homes (35%) being labelled as affordable, either through social rent (25%) or intermediate rent (10%).
But now British Land suggests that it can now only viably deliver just 90 affordable homes, just 3%.
We're calling on British Land, the Mayor of London and Southwark Council to work together to find a solution to deliver the full 35% promised affordable new homes so that ordinary people can continue to be able to make their home in Canada Water, and we can help tackle London's housing crisis.
Deliver the promised 1,050 new affordable homes as part of the Canada Water masterplan
We, the undersigned, support the campaign for the Canada Water masterplan to deliver 35% affordable homes promised. We urge British Land, the Mayor of London and Southwark Council to work together to find a solution and help solve our housing crisis.
