Dulwich Village and Herne Hill are special places to live. Our area has a strong sense of community, fantastic schools and parks, and independent shops we all care about. Residents here expect things to work properly, and want to be listened to when they do not.

We are Ed Hill-Smith and Richard Wingfield, your Liberal Democrat candidates for Dulwich Village. We both live in Dulwich with Ed raising a family and a keen member of Dulwich Lawn Tennis Club, and Richard a trustee of the Dulwich Society and volunteer at Dulwich Parkrun. 

We’ve spoken to thousands of you and are hearing the same things time and time again. When you report something simple like a broken streetlight, it takes far too long to get fixed. Issues like phone snatching of schoolchildren aren’t dealt with. Small businesses in our community are struggling but get no support. It doesn’t have to be like this.

As Liberal Democrats, we want to bring back a more hands-on style of local representation. That means being visible in the area, responding to your concerns quickly, and staying on top of problems until they are properly resolved. It means campaigning for the things that will make our area better, like getting step-free access at North Dulwich and West Dulwich stations, bringing back Community Safety Wardens to Dulwich, and dealing with the mobile dead zones.

At the local elections on 7 May, it will be a straight choice between Labour and the Liberal Democrats in Dulwich Village. At the last elections, the Liberal Democrats came second to Labour here, with the Conservatives finishing third, and they have not elected a councillor anywhere in Southwark for over a decade. 

Our area is represented by Labour at every level, with no opposition or challenge. So if you want councillors who will focus on your priorities, put our area first, and hold Labour to account, the way to do it is to support the Liberal Democrats.
