Temporarily reopen Seven Islands swimming pool
We're floating the idea that Southwark Council should dive head first and make a splash by temporarily reopening Seven Islands Leisure Centre, whilst they get on with fixing the new pool.
In October last year, Labour-run Southwark Council found themselves in deep water when they had to close Canada Water Leisure Centre's brand-new 25-metre swimming pool due to a ‘maintenance issue’, just weeks after its grand opening.
With residents telling us that they're either travelling miles to use an alternative pool, or that they've even given up swimming completely with a negative impact on their health and wellbeing, we're calling for Southwark Council to act now and put residents first.
We're also asking for more regular updates to be shared with local residents about when Canada Water's brand-new pool will reopen.

Temporarily reopen Seven Islands swimming pool
We, the undersigned, support the calls for Southwark Council to temporarily reopen Seven Islands Leisure Centre so that residents have access to a local swimming pool whilst Canada Water Leisure Centre's main pool remains closed indefinitely.
