Cllr Rachel Bentley for Bermondsey & Old Southwark

Rachel is a councillor in Southwark and lives in Bermondsey. She is the Parliamentary Candidate for Bermondsey & Old Southwark.

Before settling in Bermondsey, Rachel lived and worked in Japan, the USA and South Africa for a large professional services firm. In her professional work, she's advised governments, families, businesses and charities on a range of matters including job creation and land use.

Rachel has also been involved in numerous charitable projects including mentoring young people, teaching financial literacy and delivering food during the Covid-19 Pandemic. She is the trustee of two charities that support financial empowerment. She also provides emergency accommodation to young people experiencing homelessness.

Rachel is committed to campaigning for more affordable and better quality housing in Bermondsey & Old Southwark. She has also used her platform to campaign on wider issues including period poverty, support for small businesses and electoral reform.

Rachel is passionate about the environment and is at her happiest walking along the river or through cherished green spaces. She can be found pretty much every Saturday morning at the Southwark Parkrun running or cheering others on!
