Bring a police hub back to Rotherhithe

Whilst the number of reported crimes has fallen in Rotherhithe and Surrey Docks, local neighbourhood police continue to be based at Southwark Police Station on Borough High Street.

On a good day, this is at least a 30-minute commute by bus, and on a bad day, much worse.

As a temporary solution (until a suitable permanent site can be found in the area), we're calling for the Met Police to work with Southwark Council to find a space within Canada Water library.

This would allow our local policing teams to be based in the community they serve. And by removing the commute to and from Borough High Street, the time saved by police officers could instead be used to help further reduce crime in Rotherhithe.

Local campaigners, Vikas, Sorcha and JK, are standing up for Rotherhithe by calling for the Met Police to work with Southwark Council to temporarily use a space at Canada Water library as a base for neighbourhood policing teams.

Bring a police hub back to Rotherhithe

We, the undersigned, call for the Met Police to re-established a police hub in Rotherhithe to support local neighbourhood policing to help further reduce crime in the area.
