Commenting on the news of the death of Richard Muzira on Monday this week, in Southwark, Simon Hughes MP said:
Richard's death is another shocking tragedy in Southwark and another huge warning bell that London's roads are still not safe enough for cyclists and others.
The Mayor of London and the borough councils have the chief responsibility to act. But I will do all I can to make sure Transport for London and the other authorities act much more quickly from now on to improve safety at dangerous junctions in our borough.
Richard Muzira lived in Darwin Street, Walworth, and was a volunteer for the local Walworth charity CoolTan Arts, both in Simon's constituency.
