For Camberwell and Peckham
Julia was born in East London, but also grew up in Nigeria as well as in Queens Road, Peckham before moving to Kennington. Julia has been a member of the Liberal Democrats since 2013 and was elected as a Councillor in Haringey in May 2018. As a Councillor, Julia is the Lib Dem Group Crime, Communities and Equalities Spokesperson – her priorities are addressing and tackling the stark inequality between the two sides of the borough, the rise in youth violence, knife crime and hate crime, particularly in London.
Why I'm Running for MP?
I am passionate about stopping Brexit, as well as tackling the injustices and inequality that is so prevalent in London. I'm a strong anti-knife crime campaigner, supporting Siobhan Benita’s campaign to be future Mayor of London to deliver a public health approach to knife crime.
Why Vote for me?
I will be unwavering in my promotion of greater diversity and inclusion in politics, representing the often forgotten groups and changing the narrative around black women in politics -across all political divides.
I will seek to ensure that all members of community in Camberwell and Peckham are represented fairly and equally and that we rule out discrimination and abuse at all levels of the community and in business.
